We’re The Globe Foundation – a small, passionate team supporting community groups and organisations to take practical action on sustainability and climate change. We run and operate the Globe Eco Centre in the heart of Uttoxeter town centre – a vibrant community venue that’s home to a number of local charities, social enterprises, and independent organisations. It’s also a welcoming space for events, training, co-working, and collaboration.
Based at the Globe Eco Centre in Uttoxeter, we develop and deliver projects, events, and training that help build stronger, greener communities across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Whether it’s running workshops, supporting local initiatives, or creating space for collaboration, we’re here to help communities lead the way to a more sustainable future.
Our work is guided by our ASA framework – Awareness, Skills, Action – which helps us deliver meaningful, place-based support. From raising awareness about environmental issues, to building skills through workshops and training, and driving real-world action through community-led projects, we focus on what communities need to thrive.
Set up by the community, Globe aims to drive meaning climate activities that better people, place and planet.Â
What started out as a monthly litter picking group, Globe has now blossomed into a thriving eco centre for the community and local organisations. The Globe Group CIC (our registered name) is a nonprofit that we started in Uttoxeter in 2018.Â
We offer a range of free community services, as well as our Zero Waste Shop which helps us to raise funds to keep the centre going. We have a fantastic mix of staff and volunteers that help to deliver services and projects to enable a happier, healthier and most sustainable place to live.Â
Globe works with other partners, community groups and organisations predominantly across Staffordshire, Stoke and Derby.Â
