We’re writing to share some important changes happening at the Globe Eco Centre. It’s a bittersweet moment as we evolve to better serve our community and tackle the pressing issues of climate change. Decisions to reconfigure some of our services have been incredibly hard.
With heavy hearts, we’ll be closing our Recycling Hub and Repair Room at the end of August. These services have been a cornerstone of our work but for varying reasons these programmes have drawn to a natural conclusion, we’re incredibly grateful for the community’s support.
Our Eco Shop will also be undergoing a transformation late in 2024. We’ll be repurposing the space for an exciting new energy project that will directly benefit our community. PLEASE CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE SHOP IN THE MEANTIME.
HOWEVER while these decisions are difficult, they pave the way for an even brighter future. Core Globe services will continue unaffected, including venue hire, community events and training, Places Of Welcome and the wider projects we deliver across the County. In fact, we’re expanding our reach to offer more volunteer opportunities and make a bigger difference than ever before.
We have a new project starting later in the year to tackle fuel poverty along with maintaining existing projects such as the Staffordshire & Stoke On Trent COP, Green Skills, Carbon Literacy, Doughnut Economics and much more.
Whilst most of our volunteers will be remaining with us, it’s a good moment to pause and reflect on the countless hours they have dedicated to making our community a better place – THANK YOU ALL –
