Furoshiki: Gift wrapping with scarves
14 December @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm£12.50
Furoshiki is the Japanese art of carrying clothes, goods, and other items with a simple piece of fabric. It’s a perfect, eco-friendly gift wrapping alternative for the festive season.
Local food photographer and vegan blogger PK Whalen will teach you how to use scarves and fabrics to wrap your holiday gifts in this unique fashion. You’ll learn several basic wraps as well as petal wraps, and how to turn a scarf into a quick shopping bag.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING
- Gifts you’d like to wrap such as books, boxes, bottles of wines, tins, hamper related items, and the like.
- Scarves (square-shaped are best) and fabrics with different patterns or colours on each side will work beautifully for this craft. If you don’t have any scarves, hit the charity shop for pre-loved pieces.
Tea and coffee will be provided.
The workshop will run for approximately two hours. 10am – 12 Noon
