Make & mend sewing surgery
27 February @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm£12
Every year an estimated 300,000 tonnes of used clothing goes to landfill in the UK. There is absolutely no need for any clothing to make its way into a bin, this is a significant environmental loss. Many of us have clothes in our wardrobes that we could fix rather than buy new but we aren’t always sure how.
Bring your old or broken clothes back to life at our make and mend session, learn how to fix broken garments, or get some inspiration for upcycling an old piece that you no longer wear.
This practical group session will provide the techniques and equipment to help you repair or revive your garment, led by The Couture Seamstress, Sarah Harbour. Sarah will talk about any common pitfalls and provides suggestions on the best way to tackle the repairs from rips to broken zips.
Remember to bring your old garments along to repair/upcycle on the day.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
The session will run for approximately two hours. 10am – 12noon
